A Small Group is a volunteer-run organization, network, and set of tools that engages and empowers citizens to create an alternative future for our community. Instead of focusing on needs and problems to be solved or waiting for something to change, we foster new conversations around possibilities, the power of invitation, taking ownership, making commitments, leaving room for dissent, and recognizing gifts and assets. A Small Group takes its name from Margaret Meade’s famous quote that “all real social change comes from a small group of committed people.” We have a monthly gathering to engage in meaningful conversations, practice the skills we need to create the change we want to see, and build community by increasing citizens’ connections to each other. You can join us every first Friday (except when it conflicts with a major holiday), 4:30-6pm at our Community Studio in Peaslee Neighborhood Center. Several bus lines stop nearby, and parking is available in the lot or on the street. We hope to see you soon! |
