HD Radio: The Difference is Clear
The BMW Store Sales Manager Ric Koresky (right) presents WGUC General Manager Rich Eiswerth with the BMW X5 that will showcase the new HD RadioTM technology for you.
|
The long awaited introduction of HD RadioTM consumer receivers to the marketplace is now underway. We're excited about this revolution in radio technology -- the future of radio is now!
Throughout the next two years, WGUC will be demonstrating the benefits of digital radio to our listeners and the entire community. Thanks to a partnership with The BMW Store, we will be taking the demonstration on the road and showing first hand the difference between WGUC's digital and analog signals.
Cincinnati's terrain and buildings can cause noise, interference and fades in the analog signal. With the HD RadioTM technology you will experience the highest quality audio available, delivering crystal clear reception and offering CD sound quality. Look for us around town and at WGUC sponsored events. We encourage you to stop by, say hello, and listen to WGUC's HD RadioTM broadcast. The noise and interference that commonly plagues broadcast radio will be eliminated.
To learn more about HD RadioTM and its benefits for you, check our website or contact the station for a demonstration.
Special thanks to The BMW Store for its generous support of WGUC and its HD RadioTM broadcasts.

 | Pictured (L to R): David Cors, Jeffrey Kruse, Sherri Mancini, and Richard Eiswerth |
On Monday, March 10 David Cors and Jeffrey Kruse presented WGUC with a $100,000 grant from the Jacob G. Schmidlapp Trust, Fifth Third Bank. These funds were generously contributed in support of WGUC's Facility Campaign. The grant will be used for several upgrades and expansions at WGUC, including technology and equipment to digitize the station (as mandated for all broadcasters by the Federal Communications Commission), construction of a handicapped accessible on-air broadcast studio, purchase of a new antenna and expansion of WGUC’s physical plant to make it more efficient and conducive to the educational interests of its listeners.
"We are grateful to the Schmidlapp Trust and its Trustee, Fifth Third Bank, for this generous grant to our station. The commitment both have shown to WGUC’s public service is remarkable. Indeed, it is an investment to ensure the continued strength of classical broadcasting in Cincinnati," noted WGUC CEO and General Manager Richard N. Eiswerth.
