Don’t Miss the 20th Annual Cincinnati Wine Festival

Join Honorary Chair Michael Mondavi founder of Folio Fine Wine Partners as he helps the Cincinnati Wine Festival celebrate 20 years as one of the largest food and wine expos in the Midwest.

This special weekend takes place March 11, 12 and 13, with wine and food events designed to delight – extraordinary winery dinners, a live wine auction, and truly grand tastings with a special tasting room.

Grand Tastings

Hundreds of wines from around the world will be available to taste at three Grand Tastings – Friday, March 12 and Saturday, March 13 from 6:30 – 9:00 pm and Saturday, March 13 from 2:30 – 4:30 pm, at Duke Energy Center. Stop by your neighborhood wine shop for tickets or purchase them online.

Every year there is always an exciting array of wines waiting to be discovered and a host of knowledgeable winemakers and visiting winery representatives to meet. It’s a great experience for all wine lovers!

Special Tasting Room

Kick off your experience with a special opportunity to taste some of our visiting wineries' finest wines. A special tasting room will be open one hour prior to each Grand Tasting, providing the perfect prelude to a great evening of wine.

Winery Dinners

For a truly extraordinary culinary experience, gourmet Winery Dinners take place on Thursday, March 11 at restaurants across the city. Visiting winemakers pair with Cincinnati’s finest chefs to create a culinary evening to remember.

Charity Auction and Luncheon

On Saturday, March 13 enjoy a live auction followed by Lunch with the Winemakers at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza. FIRST, you'll experience the excitement of a live auction (theatre style) with a phenomenal catalog of limited-release bottlings, winemaker-signed grand format bottles, rare wines coaxed from the cellars of notable Cincinnatians, exquisite dining opportunities, wine cellar tours, and much, much more.

THEN, Experience a luncheon like no other with savory cuisine from the Hilton Netherland Chefs and incredible wines presented to you by winemakers or winery principals from all over the country. This is an event you don't want to miss.

Funding of Public Broadcasting

From time to time, WGUC receives inquiries about an e-mail chain petition that discusses attempts by some members of Congress to eliminate public broadcasting funding. This e-mail petition is not current, but dates back to 1995. At that time, two well-meaning students at the University of Northern Colorado started the petition. For more information about the petition and to view the University's statement regarding this issue, please see the University's web site.

Due to tremendous grassroots support at that time, Congress did not eliminate funding for public broadcasting in 1995. Rather, the appropriation was significantly reduced for a few years. Since those cuts, however, the appropriation has steadily increased and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting is currently advance funded into FY 2007. You can find out more about CPB's annual appropriations from Congress from The Corporation for Public Broadcasting The funds that WGUC receives from the Corporation for Broadcasting amount to 8% of our operating budget. If you are looking for a way to help maintain this funding source, you can write to your representatives in Congress and thank them for their continuing support of public broadcasting.

Thank you for your interest and concern about the future of public broadcasting. It is because of listeners like you that WGUC is able to serve the Greater Cincinnati community with the finest in classical music and NPR programming.
