Vivaldi: The Four Seasons
Janine Jensen, solo violin
Review by: Robert Zierolf
The Netherlands has been a prominent location for authentic performance of Baroque
music, so it's no surprise that Dutch violinist Janine Jansen prefers one-to-a-part
accompaniment for Vivaldi's quartet of concertos. The transparency of this
instrumentation and Jansen's appropriately intimate sound make this a disc
to purchase even if one's library is well stocked with other Seasons.
