Count Mark Perzel-ula
Mark Perzel has worked in the radio industry for thirty years. He began in the business when he was a teenager in Transylvania (a suburb of Charlotte, North Carolina), volunteering for a public radio station. He attended the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, majoring in broadcasting and minoring in violin performance.
In addition to his music announcing work and vampire duties,
he's held the posts of Operations Manager at WFAE, Charlotte, and producer for
the University of Alabama Sports Radio Network. He has performed speaking parts
with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Carnegie Opera Theatre, and the Linton
Music Series, and done voiceover work for numerous commercials and industrial
videos. You can occasionally hear his deep, maniacal laugh echo in the frosty
autumn night from a not so distant perch. Mark is the Executive Producer at WGUC,
Cincinnati's Classical Public Radio, and, being a vampire, hosts Night Music,
weekday evenings.
