Robert Spano, the acclaimed Music Director of the Atlanta Symphony, brings us an all-American program opening with Jennifer Higdon’s “musical postcard,” All Things Majestic, accompanied by an incredible multimedia presentation of treasured historic images of our hall and our city. Pianist Garrick Ohlsson, acclaimed worldwide for his “magisterial interpretive and technical prowess,” performs the vibrant Barber Piano Concerto. Copland’s Symphony No. 3, featuring themes from Fanfare for the Common Man, provides the celebratory flourish for this momentous weekend.
